Rest for our souls

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus wants to take our burdens as we go to Him. Jesus is gentle and humble and He wants us to learn from Him. God has rest for our souls as we are learning from Jesus. What Jesus expects us to carry, his yoke, is easy and his burden isn’t wearisome, it is light. What is something in your walk that God is teaching you at the moment? As we learn from Jesus the burden is less and the tether is light.

Lord Jesus, I love you and I want to go to you each day, I want to learn from you very much.

Hope in the Lord

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:29-31

We can run out of energy and become weary, yet if waiting on the Lord you find renewed strength. Have you seen an eagle flying effortlessly through the skies? The Bible says that’s what we can be like as we hope in the Lord. Setting our hopes on Jesus each day is what makes all the difference.

Thanks Lord for your presence. Help me to set my hope on you as you are my everything.

God has the wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

It’s easy to go to Google for any question you might have. Even better to go to the Lord. For every area of our lives, God has the wisdom that we need all for the asking. Thankful for the Holy Spirit. When you seek the Lord for wisdom, He can drop keys in to your spirit that can help practically. What could you ask God for wisdom today?

Thanks Jesus for helping me with practical knowledge. Help me go to you Lord.

Loved by the Lord

I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever. Psalm 89:1

Knowing you are loved by the Lord is foundational to our faith. The love of God is life changing. Like being under a waterfall that never ends, the love of God pours out continually. As we are open to listening to the Holy Spirit, we can hear whispers of the Lord’s love.

Thanks Jesus for your great love. I am forever grateful to you.

Hope in God

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and mire.   Psalm 40:1, 2

God answers prayer. Sometimes we need to wait patiently and be diligent and continue to pray. Have you ever felt like you needed God that much? When you are in a hard place, God is there to catch you and steady you. He can lift you above your circumstances. Allow your hope to rest in the faith you have in God today in that He cares more for you than you know.

Lord Jesus, thanks for your presence that’s a constant blessing and that you hear and answer prayer. You are our comforter.

Blessed

How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah. Psalm 84:4

Living in the courts of the Lord is a blessed life! There is such wonder near Jesus. So much that you want to continually praise! As you go about your day, know that God is with you, He lights the way. We can live in close fellowship with Jesus, delighting in the Lord. What are some things you can  praise Jesus about?

Have faith

Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:22-24

Whenever you ask in prayer for something in Jesus’ name, and you believe, you will receive that. The scripture encourages us to have faith in God. What can you believe in God for today? There might be a mountain that is before you that you can see cast into the sea.

Thanks Jesus for every opportunity to believe in faith for something. Help me to lean on you in everything. Amen.

Passion for Jesus

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. Ephesians 1:15,16

When you are amazed by the love people have for Jesus and God’s people, gratefulness happens. Passion for Jesus stands out. Your prayers make a real difference and have an impact on lives you pray for. Who can you remember to pray for today?

Thanks Jesus for the people of God. Help me remember to lift others up in prayer, amen.

Lovingkindness

For your lovingkindness is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the skies. Psalm 108:4

How great is the Lord’s lovingkindness?! Truth that shines up to the skies. Do you ever survey the heavens and think of how the Lord loves each one of us. Love that’s complete and whole. Love that can take us from loneliness to fellowship, from disappointment to successful living. He takes us where we are at with kindness and teaches us that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places.

Praise you Lord. Your love and truth finds me where I am and takes me closer to you.

Rise up

This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face- even Jacob. Selah. Psalm 24:6

As you go to seek the face of the Lord, you can cause momentum, as a generation of people that rise up and seek Jesus. How excited the Lord must be to hear us as we follow after Him. So don’t hold back, push everything aside as you go after the Lord. What moments can you catch today that would impact your relationship with Jesus? It is not just for all God can do, it is for all He is that we seek him. Praise acclaims God and draws us near to Him. When our lives seek His face we make a generational ripple effect.

Thanks Jesus for who you are to me. Help me hunger after you and seek your face every day.

Believing

I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can number the dust of the earth, then your descendants can also be numbered. Genesis 13:16

God is the giver of blessings from heaven to earth. If we can hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit to our lives, we have the rhema words from God to believe for. What has God recently shared with you ?

When you are believing what God has in the Word, He can do the impossible. You have unmerited favour as the Lord’s daughter or son.

Thanks dear Lord Jesus, believing all you have said in your Word. Amen.

Imagine if

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. Ephesians 3:20

As much as you can dream up, God can do more. We can ask. God wants us to tell Him all that we need. When we do, we open up new opportunities for God to move in our lives, families and friends. How could asking the Lord change your life?

Thanks Jesus for being there for me. Help me to dare to be bold and ask you as I know you care. Amen

God happenings

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 3:10

Being filled with the Spirit causes what seems like coincidences, except for they are like God surprises. You and I have been made by the craftsmanship of our creator. What are you excited about in this new year? Could it be that God wants to weave through your new year God moments as you follow after the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Thanks Jesus for the Holy Spirit. Help me be sensitive to the calling of God today. Amen.

Everyone’s Christmas

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Jesus, born over 2000 years ago, our Messiah. The Saviour of the world, came as a baby, placed in a manger. How has Jesus changed your life? Today as we celebrate Christmas, we remember the birthday of our Lord and all He has done.

Thanks God for Jesus, the greatest and most precious gift of all time, given for the salvation of all people.

Living water

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13,14

Do you remember being parched? Then when you have a nice, cool glass of water, you feel better. Jesus has water for us that we will never thirst again. Like a perpetual spring of water, that wells up to eternal life. Spending time with Jesus is really healthy for our souls. The Lord has what we need.

Praise you Jesus for being there. How much I need you Lord.

Peace and salvation

I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress; and my saviour; my God is my rock, in who I find protection. Psalm 18:1

What is it you declare of the Lord? Jesus is the strength of our life, a place of protection as a rock. For all your life a solid rock you can know such peace and salvation in Jesus. In life there’s much that can be difficult, when you go to Jesus, that’s a place you will grow.

Thanks Jesus you are my rock, deliverer and salvation is in your name.

Having reverence

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

Having reverence for the Lord is where wisdom starts. When you consider the wonder of God, and the ways of God, you gain understanding. There is much to learn of the Lord. As you hunger for God, and spend time in worship, the awe of God changes us.

Thanks Jesus, you are my Lord and Saviour. Help me live in awe of you daily.

Seeking the Lord

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call apon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18

When you draw near to God, the Lord is near to you as well. To seek the Lord is of great importance. Calling apon Him for real causes Jesus to be near. In what ways can you call apon Jesus today? How has the Lord surprised you with closeness?

Thanks Jesus for your love. I want to draw near to you.

Purpose for life

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

God made each one of us special. Created for God purpose. The Holy Spirit goes before us to make a way for good works in Christ Jesus. In every day there is much to give thanks about. Thankfulness for God opportunities. Praise to Jesus for walking this path with us.

Lord, I thank you that you have gone before me today. Believing for miracles as I step in faith.

Always there

O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to You! Psalm 141:1

Have you ever felt a great need for the Lord in your life. That kind of desperation that brings you closer to Jesus. God is always there and He delights in our calling apon Him. Don’t be discouraged, the Lord hears our prayers and answers prayers everyday. How can you draw near to Jesus today?

Thanks Lord Jesus, you are my delight. Help me call apon you today.
