Being ready

Therefore, be continually on the alert- for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning- [stay alert,] incase he should come suddenly and unexpectedly and find you asleep and unprepared. Mark 13:35,36

As a big day in the calendar approaches, you can easily prepare for the event, except what if you don’t know when an event will be? The scripture encourages us to be alert and prepared at all times, that Jesus could be back anytime. If everyday we can celebrate Jesus, like Christmas everyday, we will live enriched and fulfilled lives, all in readiness of Jesus’ return. God meets our expectancy and faith. How can you make your life ready for your King Jesus?

Lord Jesus, thanks for the blessing of knowing you and the privilege of preparing my life. Help me ever be ready and alert, amen.

Persistence

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

When you ask and keep asking, you are given answers. In the process of seeking the Lord, we find peace in Jesus. At some point, if our persistence could increase, so could our outcomes. Whether it was seeking the Lord and His presence or petitioning Jesus for healing or unsaved loved ones; our prayers make a difference.

Thanks Jesus for every opportunity to seek you Lord.

Help and guidance

Your righteous testimonies are everlasting; give me understanding [the ability to learn and a teachable heart] that I may live. Psalm 119:144

Stories of Jesus will be there forevermore. Such are they that we are inspired to life set apart for Him. We can seek to understand the principles in the Word. Indeed, when you cry out for the help and guidance of the Lord, God will meet you there. Asking is the first step to receiving. What could you ask of the Lord understanding of? As we are needy of the Lord, there God can move.

Thanks Lord Jesus, I hunger in you to have a teachable heart and a life that seeks to learn.

Jesus, our salvation

I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior], to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Jesus was sent to save us. Knowing that the gospel is the power of God to salvation means that we just can’t wait to tell others about the saving power of Jesus! We can ask God to give us opportunities to share the good news and then expect God to move as we tell about Jesus. There are still so many who do not know about Jesus. As we pray for our communities, God is able to prepare lives to hear the gospel.

Dear Jesus, thanks for the good news of the gospel. Praying you would open up opportunities to share who you are Lord.

Eternal values

Three things will last forever- faith, hope, and love- and the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor. 13:13

Of everything in life, faith, hope, and love, will always be. These are 3 areas to invest in. To keep believing and hoping and loving is of eternal value. Love being the greatest virtue. Love is what everything we do is based on. We aim at everything being done in love. How do you increase your faith- seeking the Lord and as opportunities arise, taking a step of faith. How can you build up your faith in Jesus? What are some ways you keep hope alive?

Thank you Lord that you have given us the wonderful virtues of faith, hope and love.

Lifting Jesus up

O God, my heart is steadfast [with confident faith]; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. Psalm 108:1

Faith gives you confidence before God. Being fixed apon the Lord causes us to sing praises to Him. We join in the song of heaven as we praise the Lord. As we lift Jesus up, we are swept into His presence. Our heart’s cry is all glory to God for who He is. What is something you could praise God about today?

Praise you Lord, you are my heart’s desire. I want to praise you ever more.

Praying on every occasion

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Ephesians 6:18

We can pray about everything as we go each day. There’s always something you can talk to Jesus about. You can tell Him of your day, tell Him a need in your life. We can pray for Christian’s everywhere. Being available for God is a believer’s delight. How much the Lord loves us to be there as He is there for us.

Thanks Lord Jesus, help me be alert and steadfast in prayer.

Faith to live

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17

When hearing messages from the Word, we go from there filled with faith. Faith to believe that we can live out this life in Jesus. Faith that God can do what He says. And when we go into our week, believing, we have something for others, to encourage and motivate them as well.

Thanks Lord for the faith to live each day. Help me to keep encouraged in you.

Just like that

Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Psalm 100:4

Imagine the throne room of Jesus. Just like that, as we praise and thank God, we are entering into the courts of the Lord. Praise Jesus! When there’s circumstances that could worry us, praising the Lord, even in hard times, makes space for God to do miracles. You can just make your mind up that you are bringing Jesus praise and thanks, and that’s the place you want to be, in the presence of the Lord.

Thank you Lord Jesus, I want to praise and thank you Lord, believing for the miraculous as praise goes to you.

Response of praise

I shall give thanks to You, for you have answered me, And have become my salvation. Psalm 118:21

The faith we have in Jesus is precious to God. He reaches to our lives and saves us from a life without God. When you gave your life to Jesus, what a wonder that was knowing God had saved you. And then when there’s answered prayer, the response we have is of praise and thanks to God. What can you expect of the Lord as you seek Him?

Have faith that He hears every prayer.

Prayer and thanks

Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6

Telling God about everything and thanking Him is the beginning of God’s peace. Jesus’ peace is guarding our lives as we continually pray about everything. There is much to give thanks to God, can we ever thank Him enough? How have you had God meet you in prayer? What could you bring to Jesus today?

Thank you Lord for your help and all you have done. I bring you everything today.

Living well

Teach me how to live Lord. Lead me along the right path. Psalm 27:11

As believers we have the Holy Spirit who leads us into truth. The cry of our hearts is to be lead by the Lord. When you are doing something new, there’s wisdom in looking at the instruction book. That gives you a step by step guide to completing the project. Same goes in our lives. As we look to Jesus, He helps us build well. What is something you can ask Jesus about today?

Thanks Lord for your guidance. I want to walk in your path Lord.

In Jesus

In everything we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us. Romans 8:37

Christ Jesus is the solid foundation for building people. God causes us to succeed because of Jesus. All through the day, you can have reliance on the Lord’s love for you.

What Jesus did on the cross means our victory over every struggle. Because God has won the battle for us, when we claim this for our lives, something shifts. We can’t do much in our own strength, yet in Jesus, we can live on a winning streak!

Thanks Jesus, we get to live in your overwhelming victory. Thank you for your great love.

The thread of your life

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good. Proverbs 19:8

There is live wisdom, that as you bring everything to God, the Holy Spirit can drop something in your spirit. Place yourself under the Word and the anointing, and the thread of your life will be to discover good. How can we care for our souls well? Listening to the wisdom of the Word can bless our soul.

Thanks Jesus, I believe in you and your Word. Help me live up to all that you call me to, amen.

Jesus, our everything

The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all he has and buys that field. Matthew 13:44

You find treasure when you find Jesus. As we give our all to him, that is our joy to be totally devoted to God. It’s like we have a light step as we go because we know Jesus is worthy of our all. When you think of how unsearchable the magnitude of God’s creation, all He has made reflects His greatness, you are awe inspired. You just can’t wait to spend time with him, adoring him for all He is.

Thanks Jesus for who you are Lord. I want to give my all to follow you.

Great mercy

1 Peter 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

Have you known the great mercy of the Lord? That gives us much reason to praise God! Jesus has rescued us and we have been born again. What Jesus did giving His life on the cross, changed the world forever.

What that means to our lives is we are new people. You can walk with a spring in your step, giving praise to Jesus, as you remember all He has done.

Thanks Jesus, for your wonderful mercy, help me be all you have called me to be in you Lord.

Living for Jesus

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

God can help us be bold in serving Him, He’s given us a spirit of power, love and self discipline. Living for Jesus means walking in faith, with the Holy Spirit right there. While timidity can hold us back, God has all that we need to move forward in Jesus. Having self discipline might not seem to happen naturally, however the purpose of God is that we grow in self discipline, in love and in his power.

Thanks Jesus, in you I can live bold and with love and self discipline.

Peace in God

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22

The Lord wants to help us as we give our cares to Him. That’s something that will keep you standing through life. Whatever burden you bear, God cares, we can find peace in Him. What can you tell Jesus about today? As we share our lives with God, He can build us up.

Lord Jesus, thank you that you know and care, I will cast every burden apon you.

Jesus is our anchor

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5,6

To be healthy is to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. As we lean on God instead of our own thinking and do our best to submit to Jesus, the Bible promises us that He will make our paths straight. We can give our lives to Christ afresh, Jesus is our anchor, the person we can put our reliance apon.

Thanks Jesus that you teach me to walk close to you, seeking you daily, knowing you lead the way.

Make you strong

Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my good news says. Romans 16:25

God is able to make us strong. We have great need of the Lord. He is the one who makes us strong in Him. As we invite Jesus into every area of our lives, what a change there can be. Praise God that He is our help. The gospel is the good news that Jesus saves. God still rescues, delivers and heals. What can you praise the Lord for that Jesus has done?

Thanks Jesus for making me strong in you.  Help me give praise to you for all you are and all you will do.
