Unlocking blessing
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Take courage, knowing the Lord will be with you wherever you go. To have Jesus as your Lord means you have heaps to look forward to. Each step you take, stay in belief, God has new frontiers for us to take. My children are aware of new technology available and tell me how to implement that. Are we aware of the new word God has for us today and how to practically walk that out in our lives. Hearing that Rhema word from God is key to unlocking blessing and strengthening our faith relationship with Jesus.
Heavenly Father, thanks for your encouragement to live life to the full, being strong and courageous.
Love of Jesus
Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24
When we are low, God wants to be our comforter. When we can’t see 3 steps in front of us, God wants to be our light. The Lord doesn’t want us to lose hope. He has the courage we need to keep moving forward. As you walk every day in the love of Jesus, you are enabled to care well. God doesn’t push us too hard. The Lord has the pace that we can keep up with. How has Jesus whispered his love to you? “The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deuteronomy 33:27
Lord Jesus, thanks for your everlasting love. I need you more than ever.
Blessed with today
This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Each new day God paints the skies so beautifully. We have much to be grateful for. You can make the choice to rejoice in the day God has made. As you remember the goodness of God, all the ways your life has been blessed by the Lord, you just want to thank Jesus! If you sit down and write a list of all the blessings that you have been blessed with, that helps lift your spirits. We can thank God for family and friends, a roof over our heads, transport and a measure of good health. We can thank God for his creation, the stars, hills, valleys and plains, plants and animals.
Thanks Lord Jesus, you are so worthy of our praise. Praise you for the day you have blessed us with.
Our comforter
He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. Psalm 18:16
Our Lord rescues us, when all else is lost, He is so close. God is in heaven and yet he’s so humble that he rescues us from heaven to earth. Maybe you have felt surrounded, and you want to turn everything to Jesus. He has the capacity to pick you up and save you from what has overwhelmed you. The Holy Spirit is the best comforter and is not far from us. “that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,” Acts 17:27 Imagine how much God loves you and cares about you and your loved ones.
Thanks Lord Jesus, you are the place I go to whenever I am in need. Praise you for your peace and grace.
Help and wisdom
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things. Philippians 4:8
We never graduate from the school of learning. This verse is encouraging us to look on the bright side. Always remember there will be better days. If you have breath in your lungs, God still has great purpose for you. There are people to reach and ones to lift up to Jesus in prayer. What you believe matters. Remember you are loved and accepted in the Lord. “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” Ephesians 1:6
Father God, thanks for your help and wisdom. Help me always look on the bright side of life.
Free and safe
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
To wait on the Lord on purpose, gives us new energy. I love to see eagles soar across the sky, so effortless and natural. They were born for flight, literally. On the ground they would have animals that could attack them and yet there in the skies they are free and safe. Do you feel excited to get time with the Lord? Just like the eagles get energy and can soar in the sky, you will soar. You will be able to run and not get exhausted, walk and not faint! When God calls us to longevity, he doesn’t leave us powerless. Jesus shows us that as we hope and wait on Him, we gain new strength and vitality.
Thanks Lord Jesus, you are the reason for everything we do. Help me get time with you, to remember all my strength is in you Lord.
Season to season
The Lord lives; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. 2 Samuel 22:47
Because the Lord lives, we have a rock, our rock. He is exalted and worthy is his name. Have you ever put on some music, filling your house with praise and worship and you realise that has set the tone for your day? What awaits us as we praise and exclaim how great our God is! Blessed is the Lord. He saves us and we are saved. He delivers us and our feet are set on the rock. Whether waiting on Jesus is popular at the time or not, we have the awesome privilege of spending time together, season to season. He is our eternal rock.
Thank you Jesus, you are my hiding place, where my heart finds peace and purpose. Help me lean towards you today, the rock of my salvation.
Praise Jesus
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1
Praise takes all of your focus. When we praise Jesus, He is magnified and we are humbled by his majesty. The awesome presence of God is a worthwhile pursuit. Praise God for his unfailing love and faithfulness. Praise him at every opportunity you are able. I love that song about the goodness of God.

Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God.” Song by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson 2019. How much gratitude do we have because of all He is and how much we have to look forward to, being close to Jesus.
Lord Jesus, you are my best friend and I love to praise you.
Do not fear
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you. Isaiah 41:10
We do not need to fear because we have God in our lives. Problems, mistakes and trip ups can leave you feeling drained. However this verse is encouraging us not to be dismayed. Why? Because God is your Lord. He promises to strengthen and help you. How fortunate to have Jesus as your mentor, Lord and best friend. God doesn’t want us to be held back by fear and being dismayed. As we take God at his word, we find that we are able to overcome, because Jesus who has overcome for us, is with us.
Father God, you are the greatest comforter and helper. Teach me to walk near you every day.
Great purpose
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
There are innumerable reasons to praise the Lord. God’s character is filled with goodness . He is faithful, he is our peace. What can you give thanks to God for today? The whole Bible is like a love story from God to people that He cares for so much. The love of Jesus is one that lasts from generation to generation. What a wonderful Lord! As we bring our praise to God, we have great purpose for our days.
Praise you Jesus, your love is so precious. Thank you Lord.
Blessed
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18
When you’re seeking the Lord in a genuine way, He is ears open and eager to meet you. There is an open invitation to each one of us to be blessed with the Lord’s presence. Our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude because of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Happy and blessed are the people who are in such a case; yes, happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord! Psalm 144:15
Father God, you have turned my mourning to dancing and sorrow to joy. Thanks for your presence.
Peace of God
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Praise God for his peace. We don’t have it all together and yet we have peace that keeps us taking steps forward, despite our sometimes fragile frame. God is your keeper. He watches over his word to bring his word to pass (Jeremiah 1:12). In Jesus, we are always in peace. You may have knock backs and hardships and at the same time you can be bold, because God is always in your corner, encouraging you in a gentle way.
Thanks Lord Jesus, you are my peace. I love you Jesus.
Real and present
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
The Holy Spirit is real and is more involved with people than we know. Jesus lives and works in lives all around us. Praise God! The scripture says we can’t even measure what God can do. The verse begs the question, how bold are the prayers we pray and what can we dream? We can laugh at our tomorrows knowing we carry the living word of God in our spirits. “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” Proverbs 31:25 We don’t need to worry about the future because of Jesus, He is our shield and help.
Father God, thanks for your abilities to take our plans and exceed them, because of your excellent greatness I praise you Jesus.
Jesus’ suffering
He was pierced for our transgressions, he was wounded for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:6
What Jesus suffered for us has made history and continues to make history every time someone turns their life to God. Because of Jesus taking our punishment, we have peace. Because of his wounds, we are healed. Every time we take communion, we proclaim Jesus death until He returns (1Cor.11:26). The blessing of remembering Jesus, is gratitude and living in kingdom of God promises for us today.
Lord Jesus, I am so grateful that you gave me life, as you gave your life. You are my Lord and Saviour and I want to live for you.
Whisper of heaven
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
Have you been reading the Bible and the words stand out like in that moment the words were just written for you? The words in the Bible are lit up by the Holy Spirit and powerfully speak to us and help us to see the way to go. Could a whisper of heaven be enough to make a difference in your day, setting the direction of your soul life? Thank God for the Word. What has the Lord been talking to you about?
Thanks Heavenly Father, your words are like pure gold to me. Help me hear you as I wait on you.
Help in Jesus
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2
We are very blessed to have mobile phones to be able to communicate to loved ones. The Lord is closer still. Your help is not far away. The Holy Spirit is a very present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1). Praise Jesus! Don’t lose your confidence in the Lord. He is our keeper. God is our source, our portion and deliverer. Believe the Lord at his word. Just as God created heaven and earth, he is able, as your help.
Thanks Jesus, you are the one I find help from. Help me always look to you for guidance, security and peace.
Jesus our peace
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
Do you believe that the Lord wants to bless you? That He is your shield, you are favoured and have the attention of heaven? When preparing for your day, the outlook you have can really impact your whole day. The Lord wants to bless you, for you to hear from him and be anchored in him. Be blessed as you take each step in faith, knowing Jesus is beside you. His peace is surrounding you, because you are a child of God.
Lord, thanks for your peace and the faithfulness of your presence. Teach me to walk close to you that I might know the light of your face shining on me.
More than a dream
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:6
What the man really wanted. He was asking for money, he didn’t realise he could ask for a miracle. What the disciples had was more than a dream. They had a real relationship with Jesus. Because of that authority they stood on, they were able to command miracles. You hear stories of people doing such wonderful deeds and you wonder how they were inspired. The Holy Spirit really does miracles today using real people. Who could you pray for a miracle recovery for today?
Thanks Heavenly Father, I’m believing for a miracle healing. Help me walk in the same authentic way that the disciples walked.
Expect the unexpected
For with God nothing [is or ever] shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
When God promises… Mary was not expecting to be expecting. As the angel met Mary, she was delighted and surprised. What was Mary’s response when the angel told her the news. She was humble like a servant. When we go to Jesus and hear him, what might he say?! Thank God that in these times, the Holy Spirit is being poured upon all people. You can expect the unexpected when God is in the picture.
Lord Jesus, help me listen and hear your voice and that my response would be as a humble servant.
Safe and secure
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
You don’t have to worry. You have the Lord. God is always there, He will make a way as we lead by example. Our beliefs are worthwhile. There was a storm. When Jesus walked across the water towards the disciples, they were terrified. Jesus told them it was him and not to be afraid (Matthew 14:24-27). Sometimes there seems to be storms surrounding us. We can take comfort that Jesus is alive and there. Can you see Jesus in the midst of your day? We are safe and secure as Jesus is there.
Thanks Father God, you presence yourself, even as storms arise. Lord Jesus, I give my anxiety to you.
