Hiding place
You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for your word. Psalm 119:114
In different seasons there is one who stays the same, Jesus. The Lord is always there, guarding you and being your safe place. Waiting for that word from God, is exactly what will encourage your soul. As you pray and step forward in what God says in the Bible, you are living by faith. Jesus is our hiding place. When you have hard times or a setback, as you go to Jesus, He comes running to you with lovingkindness and grace. “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” James 4:8
Thanks Lord Jesus, you are a shield about me. I want to draw near to you, amen.
Unique opportunity
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
If you are kingdom minded, living in the Spirit of God, you have the unique opportunity of having what you ask for, happen. Being a child of God means access to heavenly resources. What can you believe for today in line with God’s will?
We can allow our love for God and people to be the passion that causes us to believe for great things. Being close to Jesus, is the place of miracles. “The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.” Psalm 25:14
Thanks dear Lord Jesus, for the grace to believe for answers to prayer. I want to be closer to you and know the secrets of your heart.
Jesus delight
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him! Bless his name! Psalm 100:4
Imagine going to a palace to see the king and all you need to enter is thanksgiving and praise. Jesus is our King and He is so worthy of our praise and our thanks. When we praise Him we are acclaiming who His is, the wonders of His love, the greatness of His majesty and the glory of His name. The more you get to know Jesus, the more delight you discover, in praising Him, there is so much fulfilment. What could help you be inspired in entering the Lord’s presence today?
Lord Jesus, I delight in you today. Help me remember how great and how good you are.
In step
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18
In our hectic lives, sometimes we can’t keep up with all that we want to. If we can major on life in the Spirit, we will be doing well. “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25 Praying in the Holy Spirit, encourages our faith and prays mysteries in the Lord. As our spirit prays to God, what wondrous happenings are occurring in the heavenly places? Just as vast as the oceans, or as high as the skies, so big is God’s ability to move in people’s lives as we pray. Imagine the impact of each prayer we pray for believers everywhere. There’s a blessing in blessing!
Heavenly Father, I bring you believers that need help, healing and answered prayers and I ask for your supernatural help in Jesus name, amen.
Creative praise
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. Psalm 63:3-4
Praise is a fitting response to God’s unfailing love. We who have known the love, forgiveness and grace of Jesus, live in constant gratitude. There are many ways to express our praise to the Lord. We can lift our hands to God in prayer, sing and dance, clap or journal, paint or draw. What are some ways you praise Jesus? Creative praise is beautiful to God. Have you felt so overwhelmed with the wonder of God, so much that you just want to praise Him with no ending? Reading this verse, you get the impression that’s how the psalmist was feeling.
Dear Jesus, thanks for your great love. I just love praising you Lord.
Precious moments
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
The goodness of God is evident in all his creation. Everywhere you look, there’s something to remind you how wonderful God is. Seeing a golden sunset, pretty flowers, birds flying free, so many precious moments to catch and praise the Lord. Having a thankful attitude can help you avoid the pitfalls of discouragement. When we are aware of the goodness of God, life is brighter. What is something you could give thanks to Jesus for today?
Father God, I want to thank you every day because you are so good.
More than conquerors
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. Romans 8:37
How good is God! He has won a huge victory for us. Jesus loved us so much that he died for us. He was punished and we have peace. Because of Jesus, we can hold our heads high, no longer dressed in shame, we wear a robe of righteousness. We are more than conquerors and that is all because of God! Jesus takes our ordinary lives and makes them supernaturally blessed.
Thanks Lord Jesus, your love makes me sing praise. Help me realise my identity in you every day, amen.
Blessed
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3
Have you felt like something was out of reach and just accepted the way life was? Being in the Lord is not like that. All the blessings of Jesus are for everyone in His kingdom. God has all the peace, love and help from heaven for us. Just spending that time with Jesus, causes us to reflect His spiritual blessings around our lives. Praise God that He is never far from us. We are able to ask Him for whatever we need and then believe for those prayers answered, in Jesus’ name.
Heavenly Father, I know you are well able to do more than we could ask or imagine(Ephesians 3:20). Help me live blessed, having every spiritual blessing in Jesus, amen.
Keep heading forward
For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself. Luke 9:25
Jesus is the lover of our souls. Of everything you could achieve, being close to God means so much. Like Christian from The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, we all face challenges, temptation and losses. Whatever we have surrendered to follow Jesus, causes such a closeness to Him.
As we determine to keep heading forward in the Lord, not giving up due to discouragement, worry, fear, or anything that will hold us back; one day we shall be face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ. Your greatest days are before you. There is still many to reach for God and much to learn in our journey of discipleship.
Lord Jesus, I desire to be near you and have a heart for what is important to you.
Prudence
The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves. Proverbs 14:8
God has great futures for us and as we link in to His Word, principles and community, that is taking the wise way forward. To be prudent is to live with the future in mind. ““Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.” Hebrews 12:13 As we manage our lives, being future focused, we can be cause for people near us to walk in a straight way as well, when they would otherwise not be able. As we take each day before the Lord, committing ourselves to Him, our lives are renewed and we can bless people in and around our lives as well. What people have lead the way before your life that has pioneered the way following Jesus? Who can you encourage today that has been a blessing to your walk in the Lord?
Thanks Heavenly Father, you help me have hinds feet in high places (Habakkuk 3:19). Keep me in your ways, being mindful of the future, amen.
Jesus heals
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise. Jeremiah 17:14
Are you in need of healing? Your desperation won’t put off the Lord. God truly cares for us and still heals today. Bartimaeus, who was living with blindness, needed healing and he was insisting on Jesus hearing his call. “Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!””Mark 10:48 How great is the mercy of God, Jesus healed Him! Are you prepared for when Jesus is in town? Your miracle is waiting to happen as Jesus hears you.
Lord Jesus, thanks for being attentive when we call. Believing for healing in Jesus’ name.
Miracle of salvation
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
Do you remember the day when you gave your life to the Lord? That day is so unforgettable for me. Salvation really is a miracle. The good news is that Jesus saves! As we continue to believe for loved ones to be saved, stay encouraged. We can pray for people that they would realise their need for God. We could pray that they would find themselves in the company of Christian people who could shine Jesus’ light and help them know the love of God. Our prayers cause heaven to move earth in what we call revival. Praise Jesus for the miracle of salvation.
Lord Jesus, thanks for saving my soul. You are always Lord of my life. Thanks for hearing my prayers for loved ones that they can know you as well, amen.
Staying in the love of God
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4
Being close to Jesus is essential to the success of our lives. What happens when we invest in our relationship with God? The Lord will be on your mind and that will influence your decisions and responses towards the world around you. “I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning” Psalm 130:6. God loves our expectancy of Him. Remember the Lord’s love of you and stay in His love and you will flourish!
Heavenly Father, thanks for your presence and constant peace. Help me be thinking of you as I go about my day.
Reflecting Jesus
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17
God’s Word is life saving and life changing. The Bible is like a mirror, that helps us understand the ways of God and how we can reflect Jesus in the everyday. “because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror, for he has viewed himself and has gone away, and immediately he has forgotten of what manner he was.” James 1:23,24 The Holy Spirit is there as our helper, helping us have the wisdom to live the Word that we hear.
Lord Jesus, thanks for your help in how to live your in your ways.
Need of Jesus
Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20
Sometimes we bake cookies at home. Is not long after we put them in the oven that they crisp up and are ready to eat! My favourite time to eat cookies is when they are just cooked, when they are warm and crisp. In the everyday, reaching out to God, how soon of waiting on Him that we are refreshed and renewed by the Holy Spirit. How great is our need of the Lord. Like a treasure you find, is your precious friendship with Jesus. And once you have adventured in your walk with Jesus, you just want more of God!
Lord Jesus, thanks for your being a help and shield to me. I look forward to every moment together in your presence.
Infinite understanding
Great is the Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. Psalm 147:5
Move over AI, God has infinite understanding, more than can be measured. God has the help we need. When we really have reliance on Jesus, how much that pleases the heart of God. If you can’t do what you do without the help of the Holy Spirit, you are among the most blessed. Every time you give your life to Jesus, you’re saying what your priorities are. Our worship of the Lord is holy. “Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness”. Psalm 29:2
Lord Jesus, thanks for who you are to me. I want you to know I love you every day.
Spark
So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Have you been blessed and inspired from someone talking about their life in Christ? Today could be a good day to fire up in your walk with Jesus. What you surround yourself with, your friends, the Word, the environment you are in, can spark a renewed sense of devotion and passion for God. When we make a decision to go after the Lord with everything we have, there’s a beautiful peace on the journey of following Jesus. What can you build around your life that can encourage your faith today?
Heavenly Father, thanks that you are always there for me. Help me have courage to build up my spirit in you Jesus, amen.
Jesus the same
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
In our lives as believers we keep coming back to the never changing person of Jesus. Jesus is that wonderful that you can give your whole life to Him. Gratefulness and praise is our response to his righteousness, character and stability. God has been the same through the ages. You find the Word of God a strong foundation to build your life and relationship. Even in our society, when that is built on godly principles established in the Bible, there’s such a blessing that goes with that. How does the Word shape your day to day living?
Thanks Jesus, I lean on you each day. Help me build foundations in my life that are true to your Word.
Blessing
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
God has for us the power of blessing people. We all want to be blessed. Probably the best gift you could give someone this is to pray for them. Who could you bless today? As we lift up people to Jesus, God can cause His favour, His face to shine on them and for peace to be their portion. Who knows the way God will respond to our prayers for someone’s blessing.
Lord Jesus, today I bring you people that are on my heart, for your blessing, favour and peace to rest apon them.
Just ask!
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7
Just like an apple seed will produce an apple tree, in the correct conditions; so if we are living in Jesus and dwelling on His Word, we can believe for answered prayers. The key is in the asking. That’s not nagging, that’s often necessary to seeing what we are asking for coming to pass. “You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2 We need the appropriate motives and just ask! Sometimes a prayer journal can help keep track of what you’re wanting to keep track of and all the blessings you have to be thankful to the Lord about.
Heavenly Father, thanks for your Word, that we can ask in Jesus’ name and believe for your will to come to pass and can thank you as well.
