Encouragement
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:7,8
We don’t always feel like being strong. The Word is telling us to be strong and very courageous. Keeping in the Word and connected to God can help give the courage to keep being strong.
Is there something in the Bible that seemed highlighted today? Take notice of those encouragements and meditate on them. That could really help you have a blessed and prosperous day.
Thanks Jesus for your Word that encourages and is strengthening.
New People
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20
We are new people. That’s a revelation of our identity in Christ Jesus. As you go about your day, know that Jesus lives in your life. Jesus is the light we shine. Communion is a reminder of what Jesus did when he died in the cross and we remember that our old self is crucified with Jesus. Praise God.
Thanks Jesus for a new life in you. Help me have that understanding of who I am in you Lord.
Source of hope
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
God is our source of hope. When you get filled of the Holy Spirit, there’s such a joy and peace that you cannot contain. Thank God for His presence. God’s hope can give you confidence from the Holy Spirit. We can be filled as we make time for the Presence of God. When He moves, that’s the place you want to be.
Jesus, thanks for your presence. Help me, fill me as I wait upon you.
Upward calling
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Philippians 3:12
Perfection is near impossible. When you step forward sometimes you step back again. You press on for the upward calling in Christ Jesus. Improved, that is possible. You can celebrate the small achievements, not that you have arrived, still you are on the way. Praising God for every blessing can help our days be lighter.
Lord Jesus, help me to walk forward and step up to live for you.
Living for Jesus
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Matthew 10:39
There is encouragement to metaphorically give up our lives for Jesus, that’s where one really finds life. If you cling to your life, you lose life. Surrender is not just a good idea, surrender is where our true life is. Of all you can achieve in life, a friendship with God is everything and incomparable to whatever you can think of. What could you give up for Jesus today?
Lord I surrender all to you Jesus, knowing you are everything I need.
Essentials
Three things will last forever- faith, hope, and love- and the greatest of these is love. 1 Cor. 13:13
Of many areas to value, faith, hope and love are three that will be forever. Your belief is precious to God. To have hope is essential to faith life. Something really good will happen. Can help you be prepared for the good that God will do.
Remember as we love God and others that love is the greatest that will be forever.
Thanks Jesus for faith, hope and love. Help me invest in these 3 qualities for they really matter.
Believing
Keep on asking and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7
When you have believed and asked the Lord it’s easy to give up sometimes. The key is to keep on asking, keep on believing and keep seeking the Lord. When you have a persistence in asking the Lord, your prayers will be answered. Believing for a door to be opened? Keep believing and petitioning.
Thanks Jesus for listening to each prayer. Help me to keep believing and persisting in prayer.
Praise Jesus
You are my God, and I will praise you! You are my God, and I will exalt you! Psalm 118:28
When you have the will to praise, that’s good and beneficial. The psalter called God, my God. That’s personal. God wants us to have a personal walk in Jesus. What great reason to praise and exalt God. The creator of the heavens and earth invites us to know him as our God. That’s radical. He isn’t just there somewhere, He’s close and real to our lives personally.
Praise you God for being close. I will exalt you and praise you. Thankyou for being my God.
Covering
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection. Psalm 91:4
Thank God for his protection and peace. Many times we don’t even realise what the Lord has protected us from. There is great covering from the presence of God. As you hold up God’s promises, what a blessing for your day. As you begin your day, know God is there beside you, keeping you daily.
Lord Jesus, I go to you for peace and protection. Thanks for keeping me.
Confidence in the Lord
The person who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence indeed is the LORD, is blessed. Jeremiah 17:7
You can put your confidence in the Lord. Praise God. Blessed are the ones that trust Jesus, that lean toward him as their confidence. Our humanity has frailties and imperfections. To put your hope and confidence in God, that’s a secure place to be. What could you believe for in the Lord today?
Thanks Jesus, my hope and confidence is in you today.
Keep praying
So we keep praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 2 Thessalonians 1:11
The passion and enthusiasm of Paul is catchable. We can be praying that very same prayer for each other. That God would enable us to live up to Jesus’ calling on our lives. That the power of God would back us up as we go to do good works. Have you some inspiration. God can help you carry that into realisation.
Jesus thanks for helping me live a life worthy of your calling. Help me lift up others in prayer also.
Place of safety
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Psalms 34:8
When you go somewhere for a meal and are surprised at the goodness you just want to tell others. Like that, you want to tell others God is good. If you have tasted of the Lord, you know he is good!
What better than to go to Jesus for help. He is a place of safety. Are you that person that hides in Jesus. If you are what a blessing. What a blessing to take refuge in God.
Dear Jesus, I love you. Thanks for your goodness. Today I take refuge in you.
Close to Jesus
Draw near to God and God will draw near to you James 4:8
If you want to be close to God, you can be. The scripture promises us that as we draw near to God that God will draw near to us. That’s a good encouragement of the realness of the presence of the Lord. He’s a personal God and cares for you very much. Today if you take a moment to praise Jesus and then wait on the presence of God, know that He will draw near to you.
Jesus, thanks for your presence. I love you and want to be closer and closer to you.
The presence of God
As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? Psalm 42:1,2
There is a place in our lives that can only be filled from the Holy Spirit. God’s presence is to be longed for as that is the place we belong. Of all the places you can put your expectations, the presence of God is the place of true fulfilment. Our love for God can be tempered as we pour our lives upon Jesus afresh.
Jesus, I long for your presence. When can I get that time before you.
When you need wisdom
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
When you need wisdom, heaven has the wisdom you need, all for the asking. The Holy Spirit can grace us to live well. You can be thinking of scriptures and the ways you can have knowledge applied. In the small and in the big, God has the help we need. Life application is practical to your real day. Is there something practical you would like to ask God for wisdom in your day?
Thanks Jesus for wisdom. Help me have good life application today. Teach me your principles.
Good news
Thousands and thousands are waiting in the valley of decision. There the day of the Lord will soon arrive. Joel 3:14
There are many that have not decided if they will follow Jesus. We have the awesome privilege of sharing our faith in Jesus to people, that people can decide to live for God. The Holy Spirit moves in people’s lives as we tell of God’s word, the gospel that turns lives to Jesus. We are carriers of the good news that Jesus saves.
Jesus, thanks for the opportunity of sharing faith in you with others. Help me be at the right place and time where people are ready to know you Lord.
Blessings and goodness
Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
God has the answers and when you decide not to worry and instead pray, you are trusting him and not your understanding. When you tell God what you need and then you thank him for everything he has done, you are reminded of all his blessings and goodness. Gratefulness for all Jesus has done and will do can lift your day. Remembering what God has done can help you see past the obstacles and God’s peace can cover your life.
Thank you God for your peace that covers my life in Christ Jesus.
Friendship
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17
Gratefulness for friendships that cause you to sharpen up and be better in life. Everyday life is meant for community because, together we can do more good. That friendship with Jesus is the greatest of all. What has God ministered to you of late in your daily walk?
Thanks Jesus for everything you are that you are the close friend that sharpens. Help me live well in community and build quality friendships.
Bible for success
Thank God for scripture that as you meditate on the Word you are built up. As you go straight forward, not turning to the left or the right, following Jesus, the scripture tells us we can be successful in every place we go.
How do you be strong and courageous? Knowing God is your strengthener and help. As you walk you are never alone. Jesus is wherever you are. Talking about the Bible and leaning on Jesus builds lives successfully.
Jesus thanks for the courage to be strong and for the blessings of the gospel to live boldly and to have confidence.
Beacons of praise
I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever. Psalm 89:1
Great is the Lord’s love and that’s a love that doesn’t fail. That much that the psalmist exclaimed that He would sing forever of the Lord’s unfailing love. Have you a song to sing to Jesus of the Lord’s love. Praise Jesus! When gratefulness fills our lives, that is a good place to be. Our lives can be like beacons of praise for Jesus, shining lights for the Lord.
Lord thanks for your unfailing love. What a blessing to know you and follow you Jesus. Praise you Jesus.
