Priorities

Seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Something we play at home is The Game of Life. You get to choose what you will do first as you go around the board game. We all have priorities that compete for first place in our lives. There’s a directive to seek the kingdom of God first and to be set apart for God. If we do that, God can fulfil our life. What could you do today that Jesus is first?

Lord, help me put you first in everything. I want to be holy like you.

Help of Jesus’ presence

Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God. Psalm 42:5

Waiting on Jesus is powerful. God will lead us then to praise Jesus. If there’s ever a time you feel despair, you can talk to your soul and tell your soul how good the Lord is. Praising God for the help of Jesus’ presence is like coaching your soul to go Jesus. Is there something you could tell your soul in the Lord today?

Jesus, thanks for the help of your presence.

Patient Endurance

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:5

The love of God is very great, that as we love others, the love of God shines. How much the Lord loves us all. Need endurance? Jesus is able to help us to have patient endurance. In the verse, patient endurance and the love of God are together. The love of God is needed for us to have patient endurance.

Praise Jesus, Thankyou for your love and patient endurance in Christ Jesus.

Blessing of the Lord

Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour. Luke 46,47

Mary was surprised to be carrying Jesus. Being overwhelmed, she praises the Lord. The response to blessing of the Lord is praise and rejoicing. Words Mary uses depict wholehearted thanks to God. We can be carriers of the good news of the gospel and be astonished that God would use our lives to tell people of Jesus.

Jesus, thanks for Christmas. Thanks for Mary that inspires praise.

Being prepared

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him and he will help you. Psalm 37:5

If you have a pre plan, that can set you up for success. To be prepared in prayer for all you go to do is key. Trusting in God for everything as you go. Jesus will help you. It’s not weak to lean on Jesus, he is our strength. We do not want to live in our strength, preferring to lean on the Lord.

Lord Jesus,  need you for all of today, in everything I commit all to you. Thank you for your help.

Love of God

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12

Because God loves us that much, we are caused to be kind and humble. When you think of God’s love, that he has set us apart for him, that changes us and causes us to be humble and teachable. Grateful for being the Lord’s. Believing for more and more people to be set apart for Jesus!

Jesus, thanks for setting me apart for you. Help me be clothed in mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Love of Jesus

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:19

The love of Jesus is overwhelmingly great. Here’s a biblical promise that from the love of God, you will be made complete. Not something just to know of, God wants us to experience the love of Jesus. There is such life and power from God, all that you need to be complete. In what way are you able to experience the love of Jesus today?

Jesus, thanks for your love. Help me to experience your great love that I can be complete.

Purpose of God

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Everything works together for good to those who love the Lord. Your living for the purpose of God, the kingdom of God. You have a calling on your life and you know that some how everything will go well. God has the ability to make all your efforts and even the left overs to work together for good.

Lord Jesus, thanks for your supernatural and sovereign way of causing everything to work together for good.

Weakness to strength

Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my good news says. Romans 16:25

Praise Jesus that God can make us stronger as we are connected in the Lord. Also when you are feeling weak you can bring that to God that you can find strength in Jesus. Bringing all the praise to God that he can cause us to grow strong. Do you have a testimonial of ways God has made you stronger?

Jesus, thanks for helping our lives be strong in you Lord.

God of our salvation

The Lord is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer. Psalm 18:2

Who is God to you? Is he the place you go to? That’s who the Lord wants to be in our lives. He saves, rescues and delivers. We have the God of our salvation to go to. Always and ever there for us. Like a place of safety and security. The Lord is there for us. Praise God.

Lord Jesus, you are my rock. Thanks for being there, that I can always go to you.

Jesus’ presence

I give thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing praises before the gods. Psalm 138:1

Praise the Lord. To give thanks to God is to enter Jesus’ presence. In his presence is refreshment and peace. When you heartily praise the Lord, what a blessing to Jesus. That passion for God is precious. What’s one of your favourite songs to sing to praise Jesus?

Our shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1

From day to day, we have everything we need because the Lord is our shepherd. God takes the worry from us as we remember that He cares for our everyday life. The Lord guides us, comforts us and protects us. God provides and restores us. In what ways have you known the Lord to be your shepherd?

Thanks Lord, for being my shepherd. I have all I need in you Jesus.

Love and mercy

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

When you have known the grace of God in your life, there’s a delight in kindness to others. Thank Jesus for such love and mercy. People can tell we are belonging to the Lord because of our love for one another. We can shine a light for Jesus, because of kindness and grace. Kindness is an essential in the overcoming life. When you are tenderhearted, that’s being compassionate.

Thanks Jesus for your great love. Help me have kindness in the everyday.

The message of the cross

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 1Corinthians 1:19

If you know then you know. When you talk to people from different walks of life about the message of the cross, some don’t want to know. The power of God is real, we know full well. Thank Jesus for the cross. What a blessing to be saved and set apart for God.

Thanks Jesus for the power of God in the message of the cross. Help me reach others that they can have the opportunity to believe.

Remembrance

God, being rich in kindness, because of His great love with which He loved us, even being dead in the trespasses, did make us to live together with the Christ, (by grace ye are having been saved,) Ephesians 2:4,5

The mercy and love of God is something to be astounded at. Great love that he has loved us. We are alive together with Jesus. Even at our lowest point, God has saved us. Thanks to God for great kindness and mercy. There is power in remembrance. We can live our lives in gratitude to Jesus. How can you thank Jesus for grace and mercy?

Jesus, thanks for your grace and mercy for our lives that we are made alive together with you Lord.

Praise Jesus

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Psalm 105:1

Thankfulness isn’t something that just happens, you can build an atmosphere of thankfulness. What God has done is more than can be expressed. Great and wonderful is our God. Have you ever felt that pumped about God that you just want to tell everyone. That’s how much God meant to the psalmist. If you thank God, that’s the entrance of Jesus’ presence. Praise God!

Thanks Jesus for who you are and what you have done. Help me be as pumped as never before to declare your praises.

Delight in the Lord

Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Psalm 112:1

When pleasing the Lord is your main focus, your life can be filled with happiness. Praise Jesus! Taking delight in love of the Lord and to love people is key to living in blessing. What a difference living for Jesus can make in your life. Praise the Lord. How can you take delight in the Lord today?

Thanks Jesus, I take delight in following you. Lord, teach me your principles.

Faith from hearing the Word

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17

The Word of God can build up our spirits, helping us to believe all the promises are for our lives today. The message of Jesus Christ is the good news for us. Instead of measuring your life from circumstances, you can measure belief in God above circumstances. Faith from hearing the message of Jesus is like switching a light on. You can believe when you have heard the message of the gospel of Jesus.

Thanks Jesus for the good news that Jesus saves.

Word of God

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Proverbs 30:5

Have you had a verse that made your day or was exactly what you needed. Grateful for the word of God. Time after time Scripture is true. He protects and shields all those who go to him for help. What a wonderful God we serve. That friend you can always count on. He’s there and cares for each one of us.

Jesus, thanks for being there. Thanks for your Word Lord. Help me go to you for a place of refuge.
