Seeking the kingdom of God
Seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
Planning and preparing is important, except not worrying. In the new year, you can have the choice of where you put your focus. Instead of worrying you can put efforts to seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness, being set apart for God. There’s no greater purpose in life than to live for Jesus. Being in right standing with God is really fulfilling.
Thanks for providing everything needed heavenly Father. I choose to put my focus on your kingdom and being set apart for you Jesus. Amen.
Praise Jesus
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1
Praise is fitting for the Lord. You can easily be overwhelmed from the unfailing love and faithfulness of God that you want to give praise to Jesus. God deserves all the praise and glory, praise the Lord. How great is our God that He is always there. He loves us and continues to love us.
Jesus, you deserve all the praise and glory. To your name be praises always and forever.
New times
18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland Isaiah 43:18,19
Easy to think of the good old days and all that has happened. God is wanting us to look forward to what he is doing now. He creates a way, even in the wilderness, streams in the desert. What is God doing in your life and community at the moment? Can you perceive that?
Thank you Lord Jesus. Help me perceive a work you are doing in each new season.
Hope in the Word
I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in his word do I hope. Psalm 130:5
You can be in a place of waiting for Jesus and finding hope in the Word of God. What a blessing to seek the Lord. In a day there is much opportunity to commune in Jesus. Is there a passage of Scripture that has given you hope recently? What are some ways you can get your soul to wait on the Lord?
Lord Jesus, thanks for your presence. Teach my soul to wait on you.
Jesus’ ways
Shew me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Psalm 25:4
Being needy of Jesus is good. We have not arrived as yet. There is always more to learn and grow to become more like God. David asks to know Jesus’ ways and paths. We can ask God the same. Do you realise your need of the Lord today?
Lord Jesus, I desire you, teach me your ways and paths, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Bringing praise to God
You are my God, and I will praise you!
You are my God, and I will exalt you! Psalm 118:28
Bringing praise to God could be one of the greatest things ever. Plus that’s what we’ll be doing in heaven. If you have the will to praise that’s what all heaven adores. Praise God.
If you have a personal relationship with Jesus, He’s your God. That’s something praise worthy and motivating. The psalmist declares, “You are my God, and I will exalt you!”
Praise you Jesus, you are my God. I want to exalt and praise you today.
Delighting in Jesus
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Psalm 100:2
When you serve the Lord with gladness, that is cause for others to be glad as well. Singing praises as you go into the Lord’s presence is wonderful. How can you rejoice in the Lord today? Is there a song you like to sing as you enter Jesus’s presence?
Lord Jesus, I love to delight in you, praising and thanking you today.
Living for God
2 Kings 18:6 For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him
When people decide to stay close to Jesus, that is beautiful. We can be wholehearted in living for God, following Jesus. That all begins with one’s will. Hezekiah clave to the Lord. How could you follow Jesus today?
Thanks Jesus for your love. I want to follow you wholeheartedly.
Everything you need
The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” Isaiah 45:24
What do you lean toward for your strength in life? God is the source of all righteousness and strength. We are made right with God because Jesus died for us.
Remembering that God is your righteousness is freeing. You can go to the source at any time. Jesus has everything we need.
Lord Jesus, today I lean toward you for you are the source of all my righteousness and strength.
Unmovable
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58
What an encouragement to serve Jesus!There is a blessing in staying at your post. What is your default? We can be abounding in the work of the Lord. Being steadfast and unmoveable is a choice of willingness. Nothing you do for the Lord is of no value. Everything is worthwhile.
Praise you Jesus for the opportunity to serve you.
Keeper of lives
A bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax shall he not quench. Isaiah 42:3
When you feel at your weakest, the Lord keeps you. Putting your hope in God is real comfort. He is our healer and deliverer. God is the keeper of lives. Jesus is compassionate. What better than align one’s life to Jesus. God shines the way as he comforts us, that we can comfort others as well.
Jesus, thanks for your love and comfort.
Being that step ahead
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18
Being that step ahead is having a hard persistence in prayer. What a blessing prayer covering is for believers everywhere. Praying in the Spirit keeps us spiritually healthy. What are doing at the moment that you could be praying about?
Thanks Lord Jesus for your presence and your Holy Spirit that does help us as we pray.
Celebrating Jesus
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:5
We can offer God the best of everything, remembering to commit all to Jesus. Wouldn’t you prefer to have the help of the Lord in all that you do? I know sometimes I forget except imagine how blessed we would be if in everything we have to do we celebrated God and gave all to him.
Thanks Jesus for your help today and everyday. I want to celebrate you in everything.
When you tell Jesus
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
God cares for you. You can give everything to God, burdens, worries and cares. He is wanting to take care of you. When you tell Jesus, He understands and can help you. Praise God for being our good shepherd. He has genuine care and understanding. God does want to know all that’s on your heart. What could you give to Jesus today?

Highlighting Jesus
For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. 1 Corinthians 11:26
Christmas brings great hope to the world, as Jesus is a deliverer. Jesus the messiah was born with great purpose, to save the world from sin.
Jesus died and was made alive again. Whenever you take bread and drink, you are highlighting, announcing what Jesus has done.
Thanks Jesus for being Messiah and deliverer. I remember you and all you have done.
Delight in the Lord
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4
At Christmas time it is easy to become busy. When you intentionally delight in the Lord, that is keeping the most important of this time of year. Praise Jesus for being there. Praise God for faithfulness. Thank God for everything. God does know just how to bless you and that promise from the Bible is that he will give you your heart’s desires as you take delight in the Lord.
Lord Jesus, thanks for who you are. Teach me to keep taking delight in you.
Praise Jesus
Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my good news says. Romans 16:25
Praise Jesus that God can make us stronger as we are connected in the Lord. Also when you are feeling weak you can bring that to God that you can find strength in Jesus. Bringing all the praise to God that he can cause us to grow strong. As well, praying in the spirit and singing praise can build up your spirit in the Lord. Do you have a testimonial of ways God has made you stronger?
Jesus, thanks for helping our lives be strong in you Lord.
Leaning on Jesus
The people will declare, “The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” Isaiah 45:24
What do you lean toward for your strength in life? God is the source of all righteousness and strength. We are made right with God because Jesus died for us.

Miracles that cause praise
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him - my father’s God, and I will exalt him! Exodus 15:2
When the Lord is your strength and your song, you are trusting in God. What a miracle that the Israelites overcame and we’re able to walk on dry ground to safety. Praise Jesus. They were proclaiming God as their God, in a corporate way. Each one had the will to praise! Praise changes everything.
Lord Jesus, thanks for being my God. I will praise and exalt you.
Jesus, the Prince of peace
Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. Psalm 37:37
There are some great examples of people that we look up to, as they live good lives. People of peace have a wonderful future. They decide to make peace, finding ways to bless people. Nearing Christmas we celebrate the prince of peace, Jesus. Jesus was and is and will be the greatest example of peace.
Lord Jesus, you are the prince of peace. Help me walk in peace and live well daily.
